Reflection~ This quote is very inspiring and motivational to me because me following this quote will guide me into being successful not only now but in my future. Making the right choices as well as choosing the right ones depends on you.If you want a happy and successful life it is best when you choose the right at all times. If you do not wish to have a happy life and make bad choices then this will lead you into not having a successful future. When you choose the wrong you are most likely a bad person with a bad characteristic. But those who choose the right are the ones who have good characteristics. Being a good person with a good heart will also guarantee you a bright future. Because you will choose the right at all times in your life even when you are pressured to make wrong choices. The choices we make will reflect our lifestyle.Your life is depending on you and those choices you make along the way. There are two pathways in this life the good one and the bad way. But the best one of both is the good pathway this pathway will lead you into becoming successful. For example, I can make a great connection to this quote in which I chose the right instead of the wrong. I was walking home one day about 2:40 pm when I spotted a wrapper on the street I decided to pick it up and throw it to the trash. I knew it was the right thing to do because i would not only help my environment but also I would help animals to survive. When I picked the wrapper I felt proud of myself. Making the right choices does not hurt you. Making the right choices only makes you feel very proud of who you are. I am glad I chose the right and will keep doing so eacha and every day.

Reflection~This quote by Alan Paton is inspiring because it is very true. In life you can never heal quickly when you do not forgive what happened. You healing is depended on whether you forgive to forget or do not forgive at all. If you forgive you are more likely to heal way more faster than a person who does not forgive. If you remain hurt that will just affect you. You have to learn to forgive in order to feel free. Forgiving is not an easy thing to do but if it's for you own good to forgive then you should forgive. After you forgive you will feel relieved. Without forgiveness there's no way you can live your happy. Remember forgiving is a big part of your life. For example, if your friend asked you for a favor but you couldn’t do it for them and they stay hurt with anger in them that would mean they didn’t forgive. But if that friend decides to understand you and forgive you for the favor you couldn’t make them then that's a true friend because they didn't just understand you but they also were able to forgive you. In life it is not always good to get hurt but the good thing about getting hurt is being able to forgive. Forgiving is the most important thing about healing. Without forgiveness you will never be able to forget.

What is memorial day ?

Memorial day is observed usually on the last Monday in May. It was known as the Decoration Day it is a day in which we honor all the women and men who died in the military service for the United States.

When is it? Memorial Day is on the 29th of May this year, this holiday falls on a Monday.

What are a few ways to show honor and respect on Memorial Day?

A few ways to show honor is by visiting cemeteries in where a relative was buried. This day is somewhat seen as the start of summer season. We can show honor by flying the flag of the U.S. during midnight and lastly we can show respect by also visiting memorials.

On Memorial Day, some things I’d do in order to show honor and respect to those men and women that have passed away is visiting a nearby National Park that contains monuments and making wise choices during this long three day weekend.

Reflection~ I think that this holiday is a very good and respectful way of showing respect, honor and most importantly love to those who once served the military for the U.S but are now resting in peace. A day like this one should not be taken for granted by anyone. On this very special day which should be taken seriously by anyone i think that people should actually visit cemeteries and decorate a friend or relative’s grave to represent their honor.During this long Memorial Day weekend I think that people should drive carefully. I also think that this day is very special but also personal to many. I think this day is also a day in which we remember those who were severely injured and those who survived. I feel this day is a very sad day for many families. Since many loved ones passed away this exact day. Although, it is a very sad day we can have  fun by visiting a family member’s grave.

Reflection~ This quote by Rex D. Pinegar means that if you are ever dared by someone else you should only do the dare if it is a right thing to do. If you dare someone else you should  never make them do a bad dare because that will only get you into trouble. If you’re  ever going to dare someone in your life make sure you dare them to only do good things that are right , this is the main message about this quote by Rex D. Pinegar. In life you should never dare anyone to do bad things because the end result will also affect your life not just the person you dared. A reason why you should not dare others to do bad things is because you do not want to ruin your life nor anybody else’s by making the wrong choices. An example would like if you’re at your friend’s house and your friend dared you take a drug so you end up listening to your friend then not only will it hurt you also all your family and your friends family too it will only make you get into trouble. Making the wrong choices just to seem cool in front of your friends can also mean putting your life at risk. In this case you can end up in a hospital bed or maybe even dead just because you decided to take the drug your friend offered you. Even if you’re  trying to fit in you should always know what you’re  doing. Never take your life for granted. Choose the right friends and make wise choices in your life. Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities~ Surgeons prepare for procedures,review medical files,meet with patients to discuss the surgery that will be done.The most important role that has to be performed accurately is in the operating room.

Salary~  The median salary of a Surgeon is $366,605 as of April 27,2017 according to the Penn State.

Education~in order to become a Surgeon you must first complete an undergraduate degree program in either chemistry or biology, complete undergraduate school, and then you must complete four years of medical school and a three year residency.

An example of this quote is like I set a goal to earn an A in my math class I will do everything I have to to earn that grade. These success tips are the best ones due to the reason that if you follow them they will lead you into choosing the right your whole entire life.Working hard will really guarantee you a bright future because your hard work will always pay off. Following your passions will make a great successful person because once you set a goal you are committed to accomplish it and accomplishing a goal is another way of making the best out of your life.When you choose to help others the help you will later need will come towards you. Since you helped others you will get paid back with the same or even better things. An example, of the tip “Work hard” that I have done is making it to the Gold List in school for my grades. For this goal; I had to overcome many obstacles in order to make my way to the gold list. Some of the obstacles I had to overcome were staying up late just to finish homework assignments, study for tests, and working on projects. I was able to proudly work hard and my hard work really paid off. Another example is that when you set a goal you want to accomplish you go for it and in my life the person who I admire is my mother she proved to me that when you set a goal in your life you should never give up. My mother went to school and studied to become a CNA and she finished school, graduated, and earned her state license as a CNA. She passed both exams and her hard work also paid off. I was really proud of her. Now she is working at a Home Care Center for the elderly. She loves what she does. Since that day she really has motivated me to go farther in my life. It is important to chase your dreams especially those you really want accomplish. Chasing dreams is amazing when you can accomplish them.

Career~Becoming A Physical Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: Physical therapists work with patients to help them regain movement, and manage pain either at a hospital or clinical setting. Physical therapists help people with physical injuries or illnesses to help them be able to gain positive movement again. A Physical Therapists plays a big role in our life because they help us.

Salary: Physical therapists make about $84,020 a year.

Education: To become a Physical therapists you will need to earn a Bachelor’s Degree within a health related field, complete a doctor of Physical Therapy Degree Program, and complete a residency which is optional. Minimum it takes about 3 years.

Reflection~This quote means that when doing anything in your life and you might not be sure whether to choose the right over the wrong it will always be the best to choose the right over the wrong. For example, if you are in a peer pressure in where a friend offers you drugs but you're debating you should always choose the right. In this case the best thing to do is the right thing which is saying “no” to the drugs. Even if your friends tell you things like your a “coward” for not taking the drug that does not mean you are. You are really just a wise person who chooses the right and knows what is good from bad.Another example is when you find something that does not belong to you so you decide to give it back to the owner that is choosing the right which is the best thing you can ever do. Because you will feel proud and so will the owner. When you do good things you will always feel good about it. And when you do bad you will always feel bad about yourself. Reflection~ This quote deeply means that when you do something that is not right nothing good will ever come out of it. When you do bad things they won’t help you they will just hurt you and your life. Nothing benefiting you will ever come out of a bad action you once made. For example I can make a real-world connection to my cousin who chose the wrong path and is now in juvenile for about seven to eight months. He decided to take the path his friends took and now he has to pay with time.He did extremely bad things like robbed cars, he violated the rules that his probation officer gave him and now he has to payback and learn a big lesson. For him like the quote says nothing came out of doing bad, not one positive thing because now he is in jail. My cousin is expected to follow the rules. Before he went in I always reminded him to be good and to never get into trouble because it was not going to get him anywhere but into jail. He never took my advice since he ended up in jail. A bad thing will always result from your bad actions. This example connects to the quote because nothing good resulted from my cousin’s bad actions. I hope he realizes that a life in back of bars with no way out is not the greatest life you can ever have. I also hope he does learn his lesson and changes for the better. In this world it is never too late for anyone to make a change. Everyday is a new chance and a very new beginning. I have faith in me that he will change for a positive life.

Duties & Responsibilities~ help people study their disease, examine body and diagnose bodily fluids, and lastly perform autopsies to determine a cause of death.

This quote also means that what you chose to say or do should always be within you , you should not have to blame others for your mistakes in your life that you have made. Blaming others is not a good thing to do because itll make you feel bad about yourself.It is like putting your life in danger from the start for example doing drugs once you begin and can't stop it will then become an addiction to the point in your life where you can’t stop. This will cause you to hurt yourself and it can cost you your life. This example best fits with Maeser’s quote because once you do drugs it’ll be hard to leave those drugs. This example connects with his quote because like he said about prison once you do bad actions and have to face the consequences things will change. If you do bad things you will not make it out of all those bad consequences. It is never to late for a change in your life, everyone does make mistakes but we all learn at the end.We learn a lesson that should help us stay focused and choose the right next time.It is better to live life in a good way other than a bad way. The actions we choose to take will be those that will reflect our life and who we are.This quote also means that it should be a habit or like an actual job in which we only do good things for ourselves. When we do good we only make the world a better place.We need to let go of the bad things and only leave the good things in our life.Since we are the only ones who can make differences in this world we have to make good choices in order to make this world a better place for us humans to live in. My Spring Break

~ Things I did during spring break were slept in , stayed at my Grandmas house,went to the

perk,went to the beach,and to a restaurant at San Pedro.

~ Places I went were the park,Las Vegas,and San Pedro.

~I met my cousin's newborn baby fro the first time. The baby will be my future goddaughter.

~I watched the movie called “minions” at home and a full season of the “OC” i enjoyed these two very much.

~I watched a basketball and baseball game at home i watched the Clippers play and the Angels.

~ I was a CTR person by opening the door for others,saying “Thank you” after I purchased items at the market,and lastly by saying “bless you” to those near by people I heard sneeze.
~During my spring break I only read a chapter of the book called “ The Pregnancy Project”. This book is recently about a young teenage girl who gets pregnant during her senior year at school.

~I worked on some History packets for homework in these packets I had to read and annotate the articles.

Reflection~ This quote to me means that my hard work as well as all my effort will pay off at the end. I know that my hard work will only benefit me and my life. My hard work has really paid off because I had set a goal in my journal to make it too the Gold List and I was able to accomplish this goal by working hard. I really do believe in this quote because when you really want something you’ll work for it. The things you wish for don’t make their way to you. You have to work hard to accomplish what you wish.I can really relate to this quote because when I saw my name on the Gold List I was so proud of my effort.When you set a goal the only way you will accomplish it is by working hard towards that certain goal.While I worked towards this goal it wasn’t so easy as it seemed to be I had sleepless nights and bad days in which i wasn’t in the mood. But I never let myself down. I kept trying my best. I knew that all those sleepless nights would only pay off at the end. I felt even more proud because I had promised my parents that I would make it to the Gold List by this year. I worked hard to make it out of the Silver List into the next level which was the Gold List. The moment I recognized my name I was so happy. They say anything is possible which I believe it is but it is only possible when you make it. Things don’t easily happen unless you make it happen and that is what I’ve done. Another example is when I received my persistent award last year for the fall semester I was also so proud of my hard work. This shows how all of my hard work has paid off. I will continue to work hard to make straight A’s.

Reflection~ This quote means that the only way a person will have freedom and true independence is by doing what is right their is no other way through it than choosing the right path. You can start choosing the right path by your actions like being a positive person and not doing drugs. The best freedom you can ever have is being yourself for example not trying to fit in with other people who make the wrong choices.Freedom is basically being you with nobodies permission. You can simply have the freedom you deserve by choosing the right. It is simple when it comes to making the right choices for you and your life. An example of this quote would be like when you have a certain curfew with your parents you need to be a responsible child and get home at that time not later.If you have a curfew you should follow that curfew so that your parents give you more freedom and so that you become more independent. If you get home late your parents will not give you freedom. You should never deny freedom to anyone else because we all deserve the freedom that we have. A lot of people don't like freedom because it takes lots of responsibility but you should give up and not try. Freedom is a big part of our life’s.

A big part of a person’s life is knowing how to not be a cheater. An example, of this quote would be a student in class who is taking a test and decides to take steroids right before he is going to take it this will define him as a big bad cheater because he chose to do the wrong thing by taking a drug. This will ruin his health, get him into trouble with his parents and even make him get suspended from school. This will make this student be seen as a cheater forever it follow him into his future. This will affect his future in many ways because he decided to be a cheater. Then no college will want him. His future career maybe ruined and he won’t be able to get a job and support his family. Being a cheater is something horrible to ever be in your life. You should never be a cheater because it will follow you. Being a cheater will affect your whole life. When you cheat it will be harder for you to not cheat again since you have been a cheater before.

Health Volunteer Opportunities~

Bilingual Volunteer- This individual is required to at least speak one or more languages and know how to translate.This volunteer is needed at Kaiser Permanente. Minimum two to four hours is required. Age requirement is from 14-17 years of age.This organization will work with the individual’s schedule. The hourly pay is average 8.50.

Patient Care Volunteer- This individual is responsible to help the nurses with patients. This individual needs to be friendly,caring,and have a positive attitude This individual should be a great person and have patience for those patients. This student is required to at least attend two days out of the week and do 2-4 hours. The pay is about $8.50 an hour. This volunteer is needed at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Age required is 16 years old.

Maintenance Volunteer- This volunteer will help keep the Kaiser Medical Center clean by helping out the employer’s who are in charge of the cleaning. This student has to be at least 16 years of age and have at least a 2.5 GPA or higher. This student needs at least 4 hours and needs to attend at least 3 days out of the week.

Don’t take shortcuts in your life that might lead to problems and only get you into trouble. For example, there are people who run marathons fairly but there are also those who take drugs before their big day and that right there is cheating. It can hurt their health but also it can affect their future career as a marathon runner. You shouldn't cheat because it isn't your hard work. Hard work pays off when it is done by you and no one else.  You will never regret working hard but if you cheat that is something you will regret. When you cheat the only person you’re truly cheating on is yourself. Doesn't matter when or how you cheat because any type will still bring you consequences. Cheating at school isn't being successful and it will not get you far in life. Another example would be cheating on a science test at school by peeking over to your classmates test. This will get you in huge trouble with your parents,teachers,and even your principal it may get you suspended from school or even from all districts so really cheating is never going to be a good thing. You should think before you cheat, think about the consequences behind you cheating. Cheating feels awful at last. You shouldn't lie, or cheat to anyone because it is really you cheating on yourself. I personally think cheating is the worst thing to do at school or anywhere else. Cheating will affect your life. A last example of cheating is when you have finals in college and you decide to take advantage by taking a picture of the answer key when you have a substitute and send it to your friends this will get you expelled from college and then no colleges will want you because you are known as a cheater.

Reflection~ Character matters most because it is what really counts in a person. Without our character we wouldn’t really be anyone. Character is needed anywhere. A person’s character plays a big role in their life. Character matters when you are socializing with friends or family, character matters at a job interview, character matters when you’re meeting new people and making friends. Character is really a part of our everyday life. Character makes you who you are inside and out. You can’t have a bad character and have good things in your life. In order to earn good you need a great character.For example, when i had my first interview I was expected to have a great character and be positive so that good outcomes would result like getting the job and passing my interview. At this interview it was important for me to have character because without it I wouldn’t be able to communicate with the professor. Having character benefits you in many ways for example since I had good character at my first interview my results were positive I got accepted to the internship. Having character and being honored for it feels good.

Who was St.Patrick’s ? St.Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland which is one of the Christianity’s most widely known figures. This holiday honors his death, and it bears his name. St.Patrick’s life still remains as a mystery today. St.Patrick was born in Britain. His parents were rich near the fourth century. He died on March 17 around 460 A.D.

What is the purpose of St.Patrick’s Day ? The purpose of this particular holiday is to celebrate the Roman Catholic feast day of the patron of Ireland.

Why is St.Patrick’s Day designated and when is it ?

Because it is to honor St. Patrick and also to provide relief to the Irish immigrants in the city. This are the reasons the U.S. mainly celebrates this day.

Why a certain color on St.Patrick’s Day ?

The green color was to bring nonsectarian, republican ideas to Ireland, inspired by both the French and American Revolution. This color was chosen by the Society of United Irishmen because during the French Revolution this color was mainly worn by the soldiers.

Other information of interest: St Patrick has become a popular holiday in the United States. Most people, whether they are Irish or not, wear green on this day. One of the Irish traditions is to pinch anyone who is not wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day.
