Military Medical Career Pathway
(U.S. Army Cardiovascular Specialist)~
The cardiovascular specialists assist with the management of cardiac clinics and performs specialized invasive and non-invasive cardiac test and examinations.


Duties and Responsibilities- The duties of a U.S Army Cardiovascular Specialist include administering and recording tests to obtain diagnostic data on condition of the heart , performing diagnostic echocardiography studies, and Cardiovascular Specialist assist physicians with diagnostic catheterizations.


Salary~ The average salary of a Cardiovascular Specialist is $64,538 yearly. And about $24-26 hourly.


Education Requirements~ Job training for Cardiovascular Specialist requires 10 weeks of basic combat training and two phases of Advanced Individual training. Phase one is about 21 weeks and phase two is about 35 weeks at one of several locations. In order to qualify they need to have no aversion to blood. Must have a minimum of 1 year of Chemistry, Physics, and Algebra with a “C” grade or higher in all three subjects.No history of alcoholism, drug addiction, indiscriminate use of habit foreign or dangerous drugs. No history of a felony conviction. No history of conviction of crimes involving an out of hospital patient or patient or resident of medical care facility. Financial exploitation of a person entrusted to a care of the applicant. Any weapons ammunition explosives arson charges.  Any drug activity, violence against persons or property, or sexual misconduct.


Demand For This Profession~ The total number of active-duty and reserve personnel serving in the Armed Forces is expected to remain roughly the same through 2024.

Reflection~ I strongly believe that I would like to become a Cardiovascular Specialist because I like the duties that are expected from them and I think the pay yearly is a pretty convincing pay. I’d also enjoy helping others.
