Mental Health Counselor
Duties and Responsibilities- Mental Health Counselors work with any individual, group, or community they help improve mental health. They examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress and suicide. They also work with families, help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight, develop therapeutic processes.


Salary- The median pay of a Mental Health Counselor is $20.77 hourly and the pay annually is $43,190.


Education- In order to become a certified Mental Health Counselor you need a Bachelor’s Degree in either counseling or psychology or in other related mental health fields.


Demand for this Profession- The projected job growth for Mental Health Counselors is 19% ( 2014-2024).

Reflection- I strongly believe that I would like to become a Mental Health Counselor due to the following reasons the salary is a good amount for this career, i like being able to help others with their issues, and I the duties are something I’d enjoy doing as my future career. I think this career is a pretty good one.
