Student Success Statement~

Quote~”It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound” (not good).

Reflection~This quote means that it is in our hands the actions we make whether they are good ones or not. This quote in other words means that we should only focus on the good. We should persuade those who do bad things to do good ones. It is only for our own good in this life. The actions we choose to take will be those that will reflect our life and who we are.This quote also means that it should be a habit or like an actual job in which we only do good things for ourselves. When we do good we only make the world a better place.We need to let go of the bad things and only leave the good things in our life.Since we are the only ones who can make differences in this world we have to make good choices in order to make this world a better place for us humans to live in. The way through this is by choosing the right every single day at any given time because if you choose the right you're making a change in this world and teaching others to do the same as you and this will become a chain in which everyone will then choose the right. For example, when I’ve opened the door for another person they respond thank you and it makes the world more peaceful which makes the world a better place and then everyone will begin to do the same.

My Spring Break

~ Things I did during spring break were slept in , stayed at my Grandmas house,went to the

perk,went to the beach,and to a restaurant at San Pedro.

~ Places I went were the park,Las Vegas,and San Pedro.

~I met my cousin's newborn baby fro the first time. The baby will be my future goddaughter.

~I watched the movie called “minions” at home and a full season of the “OC” i enjoyed these two very much.

~I watched a basketball and baseball game at home i watched the Clippers play and the Angels.

~ I was a CTR person by opening the door for others,saying “Thank you” after I purchased items at the market,and lastly by saying “bless you” to those near by people I heard sneeze.
~During my spring break I only read a chapter of the book called “ The Pregnancy Project”. This book is recently about a young teenage girl who gets pregnant during her senior year at school.

~I worked on some History packets for homework in these packets I had to read and annotate the articles.

Reflection~ This quote to me means that my hard work as well as all my effort will pay off at the end. I know that my hard work will only benefit me and my life. My hard work has really paid off because I had set a goal in my journal to make it too the Gold List and I was able to accomplish this goal by working hard. I really do believe in this quote because when you really want something you’ll work for it. The things you wish for don’t make their way to you. You have to work hard to accomplish what you wish.I can really relate to this quote because when I saw my name on the Gold List I was so proud of my effort.When you set a goal the only way you will accomplish it is by working hard towards that certain goal.While I worked towards this goal it wasn’t so easy as it seemed to be I had sleepless nights and bad days in which i wasn’t in the mood. But I never let myself down. I kept trying my best. I knew that all those sleepless nights would only pay off at the end. I felt even more proud because I had promised my parents that I would make it to the Gold List by this year. I worked hard to make it out of the Silver List into the next level which was the Gold List. The moment I recognized my name I was so happy. They say anything is possible which I believe it is but it is only possible when you make it. Things don’t easily happen unless you make it happen and that is what I’ve done. Another example is when I received my persistent award last year for the fall semester I was also so proud of my hard work. This shows how all of my hard work has paid off. I will continue to work hard to make straight A’s.

“ True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s  right .”

Reflection~ This quote means that the only way a person will have freedom and true independence is by doing what is right their is no other way through it than choosing the right path. You can start choosing the right path by your actions like being a positive person and not doing drugs. The best freedom you can ever have is being yourself for example not trying to fit in with other people who make the wrong choices.Freedom is basically being you with nobodies permission. You can simply have the freedom you deserve by choosing the right. It is simple when it comes to making the right choices for you and your life. An example of this quote would be like when you have a certain curfew with your parents you need to be a responsible child and get home at that time not later.If you have a curfew you should follow that curfew so that your parents give you more freedom and so that you become more independent. If you get home late your parents will not give you freedom. You should never deny freedom to anyone else because we all deserve the freedom that we have. A lot of people don't like freedom because it takes lots of responsibility but you should give up and not try. Freedom is a big part of our life’s.

Reflection- This quote means that being a cheater is not good at all. This quote defines why cheating isn’t a good thing. When you cheat once you will forever remain recognized as a cheater because that will be the way others will see you. When you cheat once everyone will be against you and your future choices. A big part of a person’s life is knowing how to not be a cheater. An example, of this quote would be a student in class who is taking a test and decides to take steroids right before he is going to take it this will define him as a big bad cheater because he chose to do the wrong thing by taking a drug. This will ruin his health, get him into trouble with his parents and even make him get suspended from school. This will make this student be seen as a cheater forever it follow him into his future. This will affect his future in many ways because he decided to be a cheater. Then no college will want him. His future career maybe ruined and he won’t be able to get a job and support his family. Being a cheater is something horrible to ever be in your life. You should never be a cheater because it will follow you. Being a cheater will affect your whole life. When you cheat it will be harder for you to not cheat again since you have been a cheater before.

Health Volunteer Opportunities~

Bilingual Volunteer- This individual is required to at least speak one or more languages and know how to translate.This volunteer is needed at Kaiser Permanente. Minimum two to four hours is required. Age requirement is from 14-17 years of age.This organization will work with the individual’s schedule. The hourly pay is average 8.50.

Patient Care Volunteer- This individual is responsible to help the nurses with patients. This individual needs to be friendly,caring,and have a positive attitude This individual should be a great person and have patience for those patients. This student is required to at least attend two days out of the week and do 2-4 hours. The pay is about $8.50 an hour. This volunteer is needed at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Age required is 16 years old.

Maintenance Volunteer- This volunteer will help keep the Kaiser Medical Center clean by helping out the employer’s who are in charge of the cleaning. This student has to be at least 16 years of age and have at least a 2.5 GPA or higher. This student needs at least 4 hours and needs to attend at least 3 days out of the week.
