What is memorial day ?

Memorial day is observed usually on the last Monday in May. It was known as the Decoration Day it is a day in which we honor all the women and men who died in the military service for the United States.

When is it? Memorial Day is on the 29th of May this year, this holiday falls on a Monday.

What are a few ways to show honor and respect on Memorial Day?

A few ways to show honor is by visiting cemeteries in where a relative was buried. This day is somewhat seen as the start of summer season. We can show honor by flying the flag of the U.S. during midnight and lastly we can show respect by also visiting memorials.

The holiday was long known as Decoration Day for the practice of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths, and flags. The name Memorial Day goes back to 1882, but the older name didn't disappear until after World War II. Federal law declared "Memorial Day" the official name in 1967.

• Families reunite in order to show honor and respect.
• Visiting a relative’s grave is the most righteous thing you can do on Memorial Day.

What are a few things I would do show both honor and respect on Memorial Day?

On Memorial Day, some things I’d do in order to show honor and respect to those men and women that have passed away is visiting a nearby National Park that contains monuments and making wise choices during this long three day weekend.

Reflection~ I think that this holiday is a very good and respectful way of showing respect, honor and most importantly love to those who once served the military for the U.S but are now resting in peace. A day like this one should not be taken for granted by anyone. On this very special day which should be taken seriously by anyone i think that people should actually visit cemeteries and decorate a friend or relative’s grave to represent their honor.During this long Memorial Day weekend I think that people should drive carefully. I also think that this day is very special but also personal to many. I think this day is also a day in which we remember those who were severely injured and those who survived. I feel this day is a very sad day for many families. Since many loved ones passed away this exact day. Although, it is a very sad day we can have  fun by visiting a family member’s grave.

Veterans Day

1. Veterans day is an official holiday in which it is celebrated on the day November 11th this holiday is to honor military veterans which is the people who served for the United States Armed Forces . This holiday is a great one to remember those really important people who once served for us . It is our plesure to be able to have a memorial day for this people. This holiday also comes along with similiar ones like for example Remembrance Day and Armistice Day. Many people are thankful for a day like this because all those who served the military risked their lifes for us.

3. The purpose of this holiday which is called Veterans Day is to remember those who served the military and risked their lifes is it our job to honor them. We also honor them because they faced sacrifices just to fight for our freedom.
4. It is important to show honor on Veterans Day because you’re showing that you care for those people and it shows you are thanking them since they fought our freedom. It also proves you’re  a very thoughtful person.
5. You can show honor and respect by delivering a meal or care packages to veterans, saying “ Thank You “ , visiting a  wounded veteran at the hospital , and visiting a beloved veterans grave. These ways are some ways in which you may show respect and honor to Veterans Day.

8. I feel all the people in the U.S should always celebrate this holiday with great honor and respect to show they care for those who left us. I feel very proud about celebrating this holiday with great honor. I also think that i am a very respectful person because I am able to celebrate this holiday with respect, I  feel that honoring this people it would lead to a great outcome so that the U.S is more success together. I think that those who have family members that are currently serving the military should be really proud about them.They should also honor them. People,who have family members at a cemetary that served the military should visit them at least twice a week to show the person they care and how much they mean to them .
