Reflection~ Character matters most because it is what really counts in a person. Without our character we wouldn’t really be anyone. Character is needed anywhere. A person’s character plays a big role in their life. Character matters when you are socializing with friends or family, character matters at a job interview, character matters when you’re meeting new people and making friends. Character is really a part of our everyday life. Character makes you who you are inside and out. You can’t have a bad character and have good things in your life. In order to earn good you need a great character.For example, when i had my first interview I was expected to have a great character and be positive so that good outcomes would result like getting the job and passing my interview. At this interview it was important for me to have character because without it I wouldn’t be able to communicate with the professor. Having character benefits you in many ways for example since I had good character at my first interview my results were positive I got accepted to the internship. Having character and being honored for it feels good.

                      St. Patrick’s Day~

Who was St.Patrick’s ? St.Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland which is one of the Christianity’s most widely known figures. This holiday honors his death, and it bears his name. St.Patrick’s life still remains as a mystery today. St.Patrick was born in Britain. His parents were rich near the fourth century. He died on March 17 around 460 A.D.

What is the purpose of St.Patrick’s Day ? The purpose of this particular holiday is to celebrate the Roman Catholic feast day of the patron of Ireland.

Why is St.Patrick’s Day designated and when is it ?

Because it is to honor St. Patrick and also to provide relief to the Irish immigrants in the city. This are the reasons the U.S. mainly celebrates this day.

Why a certain color on St.Patrick’s Day ?

The green color was to bring nonsectarian, republican ideas to Ireland, inspired by both the French and American Revolution. This color was chosen by the Society of United Irishmen because during the French Revolution this color was mainly worn by the soldiers.

Other information of interest: St Patrick has become a popular holiday in the United States. Most people, whether they are Irish or not, wear green on this day. One of the Irish traditions is to pinch anyone who is not wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day. Anyone can join this celebration.Irish immigrants began observing the holiday in Boston in 1737 and the first St. Patrick’s Day parade was held in New York City in 1766.

This quote means that nothing other than a right heart , basically a heart that only goes for  the good things is what really matters. A good heart that only chooses the right is what truly matters. Even if you have great strength and potential in you but you choose the wrong your great strength isn’t the thing that matters.For example, it is like if you are the most athletic person in your school and the best player in your team but during your final game you cheat that’s the part in you that matters having a right heart is what truly matters not only because your a great player does that make you better than others. What truly counts in a person is there good heart. You can’t be a cheater and have a right heart. You have to be a good person inside and out at all times in order to have a right heart. Its really like if you have a right heart that is what makes you better than others. Having a right heart beats all other categories. Being a person with a good heart makes you the person you truly are. You can never do bad things and have a right heart because doing bad things makes your heart a wrong heart. Your heart plays a big role in who you are and the things you do in order to be a great person.

Medical/Health Volunteer Opportunities-

1. Music Volunteer at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles they will work along with you to find a schedule. This program is looking for an individual musicians to serve as volunteers and perform acoustically for their members, patients, and staff. This is a two hour to four shift only. You can either walk in or apply online to this website VolunteerMatch.org and search Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. No age requirement.

2. Care Partner-Maternal Child Services Volunteer at Kaiser Permanente they will work with your schedule. This program is looking for a friendly,self-motivated,energetic,dependable, and reliable individual. An individual who is interested in the nursing career. Some duties will include answering call lights from patients,assisting the patient's , cleaning rooms, and they will round on patients meaning check up on them. A four hour shift is required weekly, you must be at least 18 years of age and must be trained. This Kaiser is located on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles.

3. Human Resource Volunteer at Kaiser Permanente they will surely work with you for your schedule. The Human Resources volunteer will serve as clerical support to the Human Resources staff. The Human Resources volunteer may interact with members to ensure that they’re receiving the best care experience possible and will support our Human Resources staff in their efforts to help members who may be experiencing negative care. It is a four hour shift weekly, must be 21 years of age, and have experience.

Reflection: This quote means that when acting a certain way you should remember to act right. No matter what it is acting right is the only thing that truly matters. At anytime in your life whether you're out partying with friends or at the park with your family you should remember to think twice about the things you do. If you decide to choose the wrong it will only ruin your good name. When you're put into a situation for example maybe you're at a party and friends offer you to take drugs but you aren't really sure what to say you should think according to your actions. If you know it is wrong and there will be consequences for you then why take the risk of getting yourself into trouble when you can simply tell your friends no thank you and get away from the crowd that is just choosing the wrong. Choose your friends wisely to be at a lower risk of making bad actions.When you’re out at the park with your family you should know what good from bad is an example of this quote is like if you are having fun with your siblings and then a friend sees you and dares you to do something you know isn't right and you do it that is putting yourself in many issues with your family because you decided to not think about that action and just do it but you knew it was wrong. Always look back and think twice or even more than twice if you need to the important part is you being able to realize the bad from the good. The only way for you to realize is by thinking according to your actions.  The good actions will only bring you goodness. Bad actions that you decide to make will only bring you bad consequences. Nobody desires to have a bad life. The actions you make are depending on you. Every single action you make can either affect you or support you in a good way. It is better to make good choices and feel proud about yourself.It really is impossible to do bad and feel good.

Reflection~ If you learn to act right when doing things you feel honored when you do those things in a good way. When you do bad you can’t feel good. If you choose the right when making actions in your life at the end you’ll only feel honored about. But, when you do bad you can not ever feel honored about that. Its like you should only feel honored when you choose the right choices in your life. An example of this would be if a young teenager decides to cheat on his/her test by giving other classmates the answers to the test this not only affecting his education but the other classmates as well because they aren’t learning anything by cheating on the test. So they all decided to choose the wrong and when the teacher honors only those who did the test on their own and studied hard for the test there not going to feel honored only those worked hard will feel honored by the teacher since all the others chose the wrong theres no possible way they can feel honored. They will feel unhonored since they were cheaters.The choices you make is what will reflect your good name. Even if you choose the wrong only once that will ruin your good name. Choosing the wrong will never get you close to feeling honored in your life. You have to choose what you want in life but choose the right. Choosing the right will keep you busy and it would benefit you because you won’t get into problems. At times it can be hard but it shouldn’t  be if it is something you love doing. Acting well should be a thing that makes feel honored. Really you should prefer being honored by others while you live your life because it is amazing. Being honored makes you feel proud about yourself.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties include overseeing staff and personnel, financial matters, medical care, medical supplies, and any facility.

Salary: The median annual salary of a Nursing Home Administrator is $106,410

Education Requirements: To become a Nursing Home Administrator you need at least a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration. You can begin by doing research to talk to healthcare managers so that they provide you with an overview of the profession. Then you would obtain a Bachelor’s Degree then join a professional organization and begin your career as a Nursing Home Administrator.

Demand for this Profession: Nursing Home Administrators really have come to fall into the largest category of both medical and health services managers. According to the information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics there will be a 17% growth in employment in this specific field from 2014-2024.
